The principle of chemical nickel-plating was discovered as early as 1844 by WURTZ,

but could only be applied after a reliable industrial procedure had been established, known as the KANIGEN method.

 

Studies, experience, and experimentation allowed the TEC.RI.MET. Srl, company to develop and perfect an innovative

and very high quality chemical nickel-plating system: the ELNIP 13® process.

 

The need also arose in certain applications to combine the ELNIP 13® surfacing matrix with solid materials in dispersion,

in order to improve the surface treatment's corrosion resistance, uniformity, wear resistance,

or for an extremely low frictional coefficient comparable to that of PTFE.
